I served in the IDF from August 2002 – August 2004 in a unit of the Paratroopers called Orev. Prior to moving to Israel in 2001 I studied history at Manchester Metropolitan University finishing with a BA HONS.
After the army I returned to London and completed a Diploma in Journalism after which I briefly worked for Jane’s Information Group before obtaining an MA in War Studies from King’s College London. My dissertation was on the impact Israeli Special Forces have had on the Israeli/Arab conflict.
It proved to be too hard to forget Israel and after 5 1/2 years back in London I returned in January 2010. By March I had managed to combine my love for writing with my love for poker and took a step away from the world of War Studies by working as a content writer for The Nation Traffic learning about the world of Marcom as well as professional online gaming. I then wrote copy at Dragonfish the B2B department of 888 Holdings.
I blogged for a while at the Jerusalem Post and at the Times of Israel as well as getting published here and there, including in the Guardian’s Comment is Free, (though I won’t be seeking to get published there in the future) the Jewish Chronicle and The Commentator (though I didn’t realise they were Far Right tossers at the time). Now I’m back in London.
I have written a memoir about my experiences in the army called Beyond the Green Line which is available from Amazon
