Well it looks like there's a bit of a dilemma going on at the Beeb right now.
After refusing to screen a three minute charity appeal on behalf of the people of Gaza they have had demonstrators hammering at their doors in righteous indignation.
As if demonstrators at your door aren't enough now Members of Parliament are getting involved and ordering this non partisan Bastion of British Culture to screen the appeal.
Ben Bradshaw, a government minister noch, has told the BBC to "stand up to the Israeli authorities" and show the appeal, apparantly the only government the BBC shouldn't stand up to is the one he is a minister for!

Zionist Scum
I am quite honestly not sure what the hell is going on here any more!
Why do I as a Jew have to feel like there is a battle going on on the streets of London about whether my homeland should exist? Why is the Middle East being dragged into London?
More and more I feel like this is becoming an uncomfortable place to live!
When 20,000 people riot outside the Israeli embassy, when there are demonstrations outside the embassy everyday, when people are happy to be thought of as supporters of Hamas and still consider themselves to be nice and liberal we have a problem!
I feel that it may already be too late for Jews here, I feel that we may already have lost the battle.
We lost the battle in wordplay. The moment we allowed the word Zionist to become divorced from the word Jew we allowed anyone with an axe to grind free reign to attack us. We denied ourselves the ability to come back as we allowed Israel to become the battlefield, the excuse to have a go at Jews.
The truth is that the battlefield for the Jews of the UK has nothing to do with what is going on right now in Gaza. Ultimately Israel is simply the catalyst for people expressing the hatred that they feel already.
When we allow George Galloway to compare the Israeli Operation Cast Lead to the Jewish uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DrK90LvqbRk (min 2.40),
when we watch a Hamas man in the UK say the words "We are all Hamas" to 50,000 people in Hyde Park and merely stare as they all cheer this fool tell them about how the "military resistance" in Gaza is intact and listen as they scream with joy
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DWXZhj613IQ
I was watching the former British ambassador to the UN Jeremy Greenstock (Sir don't you know) being interviewed by John Snow and this senior British diplomat was actually arguing that Hamas was simply a group that was fighting for freedom from from occupation and then made the usual comparisons to negotiations with Sinn Fein!
perhaps he should educate himself a little by checking out the Hamas founding charter and check out its position and precisely what it wants!!!
http://memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=archives&Area=sd&ID=SP109206 it's a pretty long document so i advise you to do a ctrl F search for the word Jew and see what you come up with.
2 days ago I created a youtube account for myself, within a day someone called scarab08 commented on my account: "stufu zionist! get your people out of palestinian land."
In fact why don't you try searching the word zionist on youtube and see what you get, you'll notice that we have lost control of the word, with that we have in fact lost control of the ability to define for ouraelves what it is that the word means, now it means only what our enemies want it to mean!!

So whatever will happen next?
I am watching the news and I am hearing about the situation in Gaza, I am also hearing about the situation in London where several thousand people gathered on Saturday at Trafalgar Square waving banners shouting that they are all Hamas, others that they are all Hizbollah.
I don't get it, when there is so much happening in so many places around the world, when tens of thousands of people are being murderd in Dahrfur and Zimbabwee, it is Gaza that makes the news. I don't understand why when ! million Rwandans were killed people spoke of genocide, but when 500 Palestinians are killed people speak of a holocaust.
All i really know is that I as a Jew am being made to feel less and less at home in this country. That these demonstrations go to show that no one really cares about the truth, or about the various groups people are just glad to have an excuse to slate Israel.
It is pointless looking at the Israeli operation Cast Lead in isolation, there have been so many operations of one kind or another since the birth of the state and there will be many more.
I don't really think that there is an answer to all of this, if and when Israel does finally leave the West Bank there is no doubt that there will be a Hamasistan taking over and the same situation as in Gaza will play itself out, personally I believe that even this is more favourable than remaining there as an occupying force.
So I only really know two things for sure, one I already told you; that there is no real comprehensive answer, the second is that this is the second time since I left Israel that something substantial has happened, I have missed them both and for what? Frankly I can't really see the point in being here anymore and I am fast becoming sick and tired of people thinking that hating the democratic and free state of Israel and loving the ultra conservative terrorist group Hamas makes them good people!
I never minded having to defend Israel with a rifle, I just accept that that's the price that we Jews have to pay to have our own land, what I do resent is being hundreds of miles away and having to watch as fools turn the streets of London into their own personal anti Israel battlefield.
I resented coming back to London to hear the moyor tell me that I was the opposite side of the same coin as a suicide bomber, I resent the arrival of the Arab street in London.
